I've always loved game design, since I was 8 years old and tried to make my first game in Q-Basic. While my techniques are now a lot more refined, my drive to create compelling, original games remains intact. Oh, and the BA in Game Art and Design doesn't hurt.

Yesterday I decided to start work on special effects for Squirrelfall, stuff like character effects, smoke, and fire. I decided to give shape tweening a try, something I had written off as fairly useless in my prior days of using Flash. It yielded incredibly good results, and I found myself wanting to try some other stuff out with the shape tween technique.

Last night I drew up a storyboard for the cutscene to introduce the game. I dedicated today to starting and making some headway on the animation thereof, and, using my newfound love for shape tween, yielded excellent results. The cutscene isn't finished, but it's probably half way there.

Check out the beautiful new animation at the Squirrelfall project page!
